Frackin' Universe adds more variety with the weapons. Adding plenty of weapons for each tier in the game, where each weapon has it's own playstyle, pros, and cons. So it's important to have different types of weapons for each planet, monster, or bosses your going up against so you don't end up shredded.
Elemental Damage[edit]
The mod adds more elemental damage types into Starbound's existing four types. This includes Meow, Silver, Stun, Radioactive, Shadow, and Cosmic.
Currently, these are the types of weapons that have been added in Frackin Universe.

- Greataxes
- Quarterstaffs
- Scythes
- Lance - a Spear variant. Heavier, they tend to be more damaging but cannot be "moved" when extended as normal spears.

The mod also adds a plethora of weapons on current Starbound's existing types of weapons, as well as additional Alternate Ability types for two handed weapons.
